Destination and Use:

• The solenoid interlock AZM 161 has been designed to prevent
• movable safety guards in conjunction with the control part of a
• machine from being opened before hazardous conditions have been

• The solenoid interlock must not be used as end stop.
• It can be mounted in any desired position. Though it should be
• mounted in such a way that dirt cannot enter the actuator opening.
• The remaining actuator openings must be sealed with the provided
• slot covers.

• The solenoid interlock has a set latching of 30 N.

Mounting / Wiring:

• There are three boreholes (Ø 5.5 mm) for mounting the solenoid interlock. The boreholes a and b must be used.
• If required the the cable entries can be opened by screwing in Pg 11 cable glands with suitable IP rating.
• The solenoid interlock has protecive insulation. A connection of a protective lead is not allowed.
• As a mounting aid and in case of power failure, a manual unlocking device is provided. By turning the triangle located on the side of the switch, clockwise 180°, the latching bolt is put into unlocked position.
• When unlocking, caution should be taken so that there is no damage to the unlocking device due to jamming of the actuator caused by outside influences. The normal solenoid locking function will only occur, if the triangle is returned to its original position. The manual unlocking device has to be secured by repositioning the enclosed plastic cap.

Wiring and Sealing:

• Appropriate cable glands with a suitable degree of protection are to be used. Any unused entries should be closed using a trreaded blanking plug. Before wiring check the setting of the switching points with a multimeter.

Maintenance: With careful mounting as described above, the switch requires little maintenance. By use in extreme conditions, we recommend routine maintenance als follows:

• Check cable entries and terminal connections
• Remove all debries or particles
