    Panasonic MINAS A5 series servos provide high performance and function for systems where precision, smart control, safety, and easy configuration are needed.

     

    2kHz response frequency:
    Achieves 2kHz - the highest response frequency in the industry. In addition to its advanced control functions, the MINAS A5 features an LSI chip architecture that enables ultra-fast system operation. In view of its remarkable speed and superb positioning response, the A5 is suitable for the most demanding systems.

    20-bit encoder; 1.04 million pulses per revolution
    Ensures smoother operation by means of manual/automatic notch filters which significantly reduce vibration at machine stoppage. Enables exceptionally fast and accurate positioning. A new proprietary signal processing technology achieves 1.04 million pulses per revolution with a 20-bit encoder.

     

    Low cogging torque:
    Achieves the industry's most stable speed and lowest cogging torque by minimizing pulse width. This was made possible by a new design featuring a 10-pole rotor for the motor as well as a magnetic field analysis function. With the reduction in torque variation, the MINAS A5's speed, stability, and positioning behavior have been markedly improved.

     

    4Mpps input/output pulse:
    Handles positioning commands via pulse train input - another feature that puts it far ahead of its competitors. Command input and pulse output can both achieve speeds of up to 4Mpps. This enables ultra-fast, high-resolution operation, including the standard full closed control mode.

     

    Real-time auto-gain tuning:
    Incorporates the industry's fastest, high-performance real-time auto-gain tuning system, with a simple setup. After installation, tuning is performed automatically upon completion of several operations. When the response frequency has been adjusted, simple tuning results in a change to a single parameter value, and fine-tuning can be carried out by activating the gain adjustment mode in the setup software. The automatic vibration suppression function minimizes equipment damage. Additional mode and stiffness parameters enable easy response frequency optimization for specific machine types such as vertical axis or high-friction, belt-driven machines.

     

    Manual and auto damping filters:
    Suppresses the natural vibration frequency component of the command input, which greatly reduces axis vibration at machine stoppage. The number of damping filters has been increased to four from the conventional two; of these four, two are for simultaneous use. The available frequency range has been extended significantly to 1 - 200Hz, and the auto setup has been simplified.

     

    Setup software with motion simulation:
    Reads response frequency data from the actual machine into a sample general-purpose application. A simplified simulation function allows you to check gain and filter effects without adjusting the actual equipment.

    The MR-J3 generation of servo drives delivers state-of-the-art technology and simple operation in a very compact package. Functions like the advanced vibration suppression system and the further improved real-time autotuning ensure maximum precision, very short positioning times and simple installation. The amplifiers are a full 40% slimmer compared to previous series. The MR-J3 series is available in three versions: The MR-J3-A models are suitable for drive systems with conventional control and are designed for regulating speed, torque and position control tasks. The MR-J3-A servo models are also available with an EtherCAT option. The MR-J3-B models are specified for complex, multi-axis movement sequences and for use in networked automation systems. A servo amplifier with built-in positioning (MR-J3-T) is also available. The units configure themselves by Plug & Play for Mitsubishi Electric's Motion Control and positioning control systems, to which they are connected via the high-speed optical SSCNET III network, which has a cycle period of just 0.44 milliseconds. The MR-J3 is currently available with outputs from 50W to 55kW. Units with higher outputs are being added to the range at regular intervals.

    MINAS LIQI series servo drives are ideal for applications that require an affordable technological upgrade to improve reliability and performance. Machines for simple food processing, packaging, printing, metal processing, even small linear robots are but a few example applications for which MINAS LIQI drives are cut out. In combination with Panasonic FP series PLCs, e.g. FP0R and FP-X0, they can be used to realize simple motion solutions. Use our banner freeware PANATERM to configure MINAS LIQI.

    Simple:

    • Pulse train input: MINAS LIQI supports pulse train commands of up to 500kpps, adequate for simple positioning control. With 2500 pulses/revolution, the incremental encoder enables a resolution of 10000 pulses/revolution.
    • 1kHz response frequency: A bandwidth of 1kHz guarantees quick response times, resulting in very low vibration.
    • Setup with PANATERM software via USB: MINAS LIQI servo drives can be set up with the freeware PANATERM via USB. Set all driver parameters and monitor important data such as position, speed and torque.

    Functional:
    • Real-time auto-gain tuning: MINAS LIQI features real-time auto-gain tuning just like MINAS A5 servo drives. By setting only the stiffness parameter, gain parameters are calculated automatically and in real time at each load inertia change. Thanks to the vibration suppression function, the drive’s performance is improved, helping protect equipment from damage.
    • Rotary switch (RSW): Using the rotary switch (RSW) on the servo drive’s front panel, you can set the “stiffness” on site, directly manipulating the servo drive’s gain.

    Powerful:
    • With MINAS LIQI drives, simple positioning applications can be realized quickly, without sacrificing accuracy or speed. The advanced real-time auto-gain tuning function allows MINAS LIQI drives to be particularly efficient in combination with Panasonic FP series PLCs. Especially the compact FP0R and FP-X0 series, which are equipped with high-speed counters and advanced motion functions, fit perfectly.
    • Typical applications include small assembly and packaging machines, robots, positioners, automatic loaders, extruders, metering and other applications requiring precision, speed — and a user-friendly, inexpensive servo drive.
